No próximo dia 11 de junho de 2026, o CIES-Iscte organiza mais um seminário de investigação, subordinado ao tema "Resilience of Local Communities: How Social Entrepreneurship Strengthens Social Capital and Local Development".
A sessão será conduzida por Anna Waligóra, docente na Poznań University of Economics and Business (Polónia) e atualmente investigadora visitante no CIES-Iscte.

ABSTRACT
The seminar will focus on the role of social entrepreneurship in building the resilience of local communities and in revitalizing areas that are socially, economically, and culturally diverse. It will draw on examples from Poland and Romania, showing how social initiatives can respond to challenges related to inequality, a lack of social dialogue, generational change, and the need to create new jobs. The seminar will also discuss the mechanisms of building socio-institutional capital, the importance of local resources, and practical ways to strengthen communities through grassroots and entrepreneurial action.
