The Impact-WEB-SIG © platform is the result of an idea by Eduardo Medeiros to associate his methodology for assessing the territorial impacts of policies, projects, programmes and strategies (TARGET_TIA ©) with a WEB-SIG platform that responds to the demand of various entities. in assessing the impacts of all types of interventions, in their various phases of evaluation (ex-ante / mid-term / ex-post), at various scales and territorial units, and in the intended analytical dimensions.

In short, with this platform, it is intended to obtain, process and present scores of impacts of projects, policies, programmes and strategies through cartography (WEB_SIG) in the intended territorial units, obtained in a robust way, but relatively quickly, in a process largely automated, which considers elements such as regional sensitivity, political intensity, the counterfactual element, and the causality of interventions.

For example, this platform makes it possible to assess the ex-ante, mid-term or ex-post impacts of the 2030 Strategy, National, Regional and Urban Development and Planning Strategies, the EU Cohesion Policy and its various programs (e.g., Operational Programmes, Interreg, etc.), Integrated Sustainable Urban Development Strategies (SUDS), and projects with potential impacts such as the construction of airports, railway lines, urban renewal and rehabilitation projects, etc.

This platform is funded by the project 'Monitoring and Evaluation of Territorial Impacts of Public Policies through a platform: Impact-WEB-GIS' POAT-01-6177-FEDER000063. The POSEUR pilot case study was used in the NUTS 2 of mainland Portugal. The project is coordinated by Eduardo Medeiros and led by DINÂMIA'CET-iscte. Two other research centres are project partners: CIS-Iscte and ISTAR-iscte.
