Within the framework of the event “nascer.pt Forum: Critical Pathways and Perspectives on Birth”, to be held on June 24, 2026, the Laboratory for Social Studies on Birth – nascer.pt, based at CIES-Iscte, invites students and researchers to submit scientific posters for presentation at the meeting.

This call is open to master’s and doctoral students, as well as researchers working in the field of social studies on birth, welcoming contributions from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds.

THEMATIC AREAS:

• Sociocultural and demographic characteristics of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period
• Models of maternity and birth care
• Experiences of birth, motherhood, and parenthood
• Non-normative reproductive trajectories
• Reproductive technologies
• Family planning projects and the transition to motherhood
• Gynecological and obstetric violence
• Birth experiences among marginalized populations
• Sexual and reproductive justice
• Menstrual health
• Activisms surrounding birth

SUBMISSIONS:

Participation requires the submission of an abstract to nascer@iscte-iul.pt, meeting the following criteria:

• Length: 150–300 words
• Accepted languages: Portuguese, Spanish, or English
