Susana Santos, researcher at CIES,  took part in the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology, held in Rabat, Morocco, from 6 to 11 July 2025.

As a member of the board of RCSL 12 – Research Committee on Sociology of Law, Susana Santos participated in the board meeting and chaired the jury for the 2025 Podgorecki Prize. This year, the prize was awarded ex aequo to researchers Ulrike Schultz (FernUniversität Hagen, Germany) and Hakan Hayden (Lund University, Sweden), in recognition of their distinguished careers dedicated to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the field of the Sociology of Law.

During the Forum, a presentation was given on a new research project currently being developed at CIES, and a working session was moderated on legal professions and the mobilisation of legal knowledge, both as an academic discipline and as a professional practice. This participation reflects CIES’s ongoing engagement in international academic dialogue and its contribution to the advancement of sociological approaches to law and legal institutions.
