Renato Miguel do Carmo is an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology of University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) and research fellow at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-IUL), Portugal. He is Director of the Inequality Observatory, deputy director of CIES-IUL,  and member of the European network Inequality Watch. Issues such as social and spatial inequalities, welfare state, public policy, mobilities and social capital have been at the core of his research projects. His recent publications have appeared in European Societies, Sociologia Ruralis, Time & Society, Sociological Research Online, European Planning Studies, Portuguese Journal of Social Science and others. He has published 21 books (15 as editor and six as author or co-author), three of them published by international publishing houses (Palgrave, Springer, Annablume). Since obtaining PhD, he has received several scientific awards: awarded with the ISCTE-IUL prizes for one of best international articles published in 2010, 2014 and 2015; ... [ver mais]
